The two songwriters were picking away at it, and Gilbert helped the pair complete the track after recalling a time in the mid-2000s when he called his friend Amber Cochran up after having a few drinks. "Usually when it came to her, I wouldn't do that," he told Taste of Country. "I wouldn't talk to her unless I was straight as an arrow."
  
  In 2014 Gilbert announced his engagement to Amber Cochran. "I think everybody has drunk-dialed at one point in their life," he shared, "but looking back it's kind of crazy when you look back at the drunk dial that happened that night and you're telling somebody how much you love him and it actually ends up being true."
