Songfacts®:

  • The lead single off of Breaking Benjamin's fifth studio album, Dark Before Dawn, the track marked the band's first release since the start of an extended hiatus entered upon in mid-2010. The song was also the first recording to feature a different line-up alongside singer, writer, and guitarist Ben Burnley. The frontman is flanked by former Picture Me Broken drummer Shaun Foist, ex-Forever Ouevre bassist Aaron Bruch, previous RED guitarist Jasen Rauch and ex-Adelitas Way guitarist Keith Wallen.
  • As he has often done in the past, Burnley said he is reluctant to disclose the track's meaning. He told The Pulse of Radio: "I'm known for not really saying what songs are about, and it really isn't a cop-out."

"It's hard to describe how awesome it is when a fan comes to you and they tell you what your song is about. That's awesome and I love hearing it. So that's why I don't want to say what it's really about or what I thought of. I'm obviously influenced by the things going in my life, but that doesn't mean that I need to put that on the listener and make them experience what I experienced when I listen to it."
