I'll Meet You There

Album: Big Songs from Small Movies (1999)

Songfacts®:

  • "I'll Meet You There" is the Official New Zealand Millennium Song. Released in October 1999, it was commissioned from James Hall and Boh Runga, and was performed by Brett Sawyer and Pearl Runga. Hall and Boh Runga - who wrote the words and music together - produced it at the behest of TV3 and the "First To The Future" marketing campaign of the New Zealand Millennium Office.
Hall said the aim of the song was to encapsulate the New Zealand sound, and to help reinforce New Zealand’s identity as the first to see the Sun of the new Millennium.
  • "I'll Meet You There" is copyright by Sony Music; Boh Runga is the elder sister of Bic Runga, and a musician in her own right. Although middle sister Pearl also dabbles in music, she is a teacher by profession.
