  • This is a song about sexual ideas. Brian Wilson recalled: "At first, when I wrote the melody, I thought maybe it should be a love song. 'Cause it started sounding like a love song to me. And I tried a working lyric that had a lot to do with love and affection and that kind of thing. But I didn't like it. Most of the lyrics were romantic, but then I put in a couple of sexual lines. And then I said, 'Wait a minute. Let's get rid of some of the love aspects, the romantic aspects of this song, and put in more sexual lyrics.'"
