Passion

Album: not on an album (2001)

Songfacts®:

  • "Passion" is one of a number of songs written by the non-existent Junior Lightning Boy that appear in the 2001 erotic thriller Forbidden Highway. It is performed just over an hour into the film when the man himself is playing in a country bar, the passion being provided by the film's female lead who having got herself into a lot of trouble with some rather unpleasant people is performing a strip tease routine, which is less passion than lust, but is soon to result in a bar fight as Elrey walks in, the guy whose car she stole leaving him in the desert where he had the good fortune to be rescued by a country girl. Elrey's encounter with her was accompanied by a song with the somewhat inappropriate title "Country Girl Blues."

"Passion" has been performed on occasion by bluesman Brother Yusef, who is its real composer, and is is copyrighted 1999 by Hopkins-Olaitan Music. >>>
