Songfacts®:

  • Here, Bryson Tiller reminds his haters to look in the mirror before questioning his motives.

    Check yourself
    Check, check, check
Check, check yourself before you wreck yourself

The lyric is an interpolation of the hook of Ice Cube's 1993 cut "Check Yo Self (Remix)."
  • Tiller calls out his former manager Steven J. Dorn on the second verse rapping:

Just got a new manager, my last one was f---ing up my vision
Can't believe this nigga still tryna get a percentage
I gave you back your investment, get out your feelings
    .

Tiller's ex-manager Steven J. Dorn filed a lawsuit in February 2017 against the singer's new management seeking money he claims he's owed. According to the documents, Dorn covered Tiller's "living expenses, child support payments, car insurance and secured recording facilities for him." He claims that the singer agreed to pay back the expenses and split any future income with him. However, Dorn claims that he was pushed out of the picture by Bryson's lawyer in 2015, which means that their previous agreements were not honored.
