Songfacts®:

  • Over a bouncy bass-house dance beat, Bugzy Malone spits bars about his come up from the streets.
  • Born in a family of Manchester career criminals, Bugzy Malone grew up in a poverty-stricken household. After a spell in prison in his teens, he took up boxing before finding success with his music. Bugzy is recognized as the first Mancunian grime artist to succeed commercially in the UK. Truly, he came out of nowhere.
  • For "Out Of Nowhere," Bugzy teamed up with Sheffield producer TeeDee. The collaboration came about through social media. After TeeDee created the instrumentation, he encouraged his Instagram and TikTok followers to tag Bugzy to get his attention. The Manchester rapper caught wind of the beat and suggested he would likely jump on the track. Bugzy came to Sheffield to meet TeeDee, and 11 days later, the producer posted a TikTok video teasing "Out if Nowhere." After Bugzy released it as single on November 11, 2022, the song became his third UK top 20 hit.
  • TeeDee's production samples the vocals and beat of DJ Zinc featuring Ms. Dynamite's 2010 bassline single "Wile Out."
