  • Even when it won't stop hurting
    I know
    Every setback was a setup
For something greater that you had in store

Here, Jason Roy sings about the challenge of trusting God when things are going wrong. He explained to NewReleaseToday this has happened many times in his life. At the time it made little sense, but a year or so later he could look back and realize that difficult time he waded through led him to where he's supposed to be. "The setbacks in life are really the setups for the kingdom of God to show itself faithful again," he explained.
  • Ain't just a war I'm standing in, oh no
    It's a blessing I can't see yet

The lyric "'blessing I can't see yet" was something Roy heard in a coffee meeting with a lady. The record label had recently dropped Building 429, and she reminded the singer that God still had a purpose for him. "Maybe no longer being a part of a record label is a blessing I can't see yet," he said. "Because I will walk in a new level of freedom."
