Songfacts®:

  • In 2016, Bullet For My Valentine singer Matt Tuck divorced the mother of his only child, Evann. At first he coped by burying himself in touring the band's Venom album, but at the end of the two-year touring cycle, he found himself on his own and the emotional turmoil of breaking up a family hit the vocalist hard. Tuck endured spells of anxiety and crippling depression to the extent that he questioned his future in the group. This song finds Tuck recalling the dark place he found himself in. He told Louder Sound:

"It's when my head wasn't in a good place really, and I was just getting these waves of feeling s--t and depression. It's a very dark song, but it's a song I can look back on now and it reminds me of a time where I know I've got the strength, and I'm strong enough to get by."
