  • The actor Burt Reynolds twice dabbled as a country singer. His first attempt, 1973's "Ask Me What I Am," failed to chart, but seven years later this ode to a why-not romance peaked at #51 on the Country listing and #88 on the Hot 100. The song was recorded for the soundtrack to the Smokey and the Bandit II movie, in which Reynolds starred.
  • "Superficial" was penned by songwriter and arranger Richard Levinson who has contributed tunes to many films and TV shows, including True Blood and Raising Hope. His contributions to the musical Savin' Up for Saturday Night earned him an Ovation nomination for best music and lyrics from the Los Angeles Stage Alliance.
