Songfacts®:

  • The second single from Black and White Rainbows, this was penned by Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale with Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics.

Stewart previously collaborated with Rossdale's ex, Gwen Stefani, when they wrote "Underneath It All" for No Doubt's Rock Steady album. Stefani's lyrics for that song were inspired by her love for the Bush singer.
  • Gavin Rossdale said: "'Lost In You' is a song about the cycle of love and the danger of patterns and how true love is to lose yourself in someone."

He added: "The video chronicles a relationship that is beautiful and wide until the cracks appear and the question is how strong is the love and do we make it back?"
  • Rossdale and Stewart wrote this for Rossdale's 2008 solo album Wanderlust, but it was left off the set. Rossdale's manager convinced him to use it on Black And White Rainbows.
  • This is the first Bush song that isn't a solo Gavin Rossdale composition. When the band was on hiatus, he wrote with others, including Stewart. " It was the first song we did together, and it was a really quick process," Rossdale said in a Songfacts interview. "He's very talented, so it was a lot of fun and very easy. We'd known each other for a long time, so it was just cool to write songs together."
