  • Caleb Johnson started his music career in 2010 as the lead singer of the Asheville, North Carolina Rock band Elijah Hooker. After two failed attempts in seasons 10 and 11 of American Idol, Johnson became in season 13 the first Hard Rock and Heavy Metal singer to win the contest.
  • This was released as the winner's song following Caleb Johnson's American Idol victory. It was written by The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins and originally recorded in 2012 by Idols South Africa season 7 runner-up Mark Haze on his debut album Where Angels Fear to Fly.
  • Kelly Clarkson had wanted to record the song, but after sitting on it for a while, the license was passed to Caleb Johnson.
