Songfacts®:

  • This bubbly, guitar-strumming track finds Cam running down a list of things and places that make people say "they don't make them like this anymore." Among the long gone "classic" items she lists are "a big yellow taxi," "your best friend's mixtape" and "a big limo and prom date."
  • Pickin' up some Lucky Strikes
    Leanin' on the wall outside
They don't make 'em like that anymore

It was Cam's husband, Nashville business broker Adam Weaver, who sparked the song idea while they were traveling in Argentina. Cam explained to MusicRow that he found some Lucky Strike cigarettes and said, "They don't make them like that anymore."
  • Cam wrote the song at Electric Lady Studios with producer Jack Antonoff, known for his work with Taylor Swift, Lorde and Lana Del Rey. "Jack started strumming a Simon & Garfunkel, up-tempo, 'Cecilia'-type vibe and it felt so happy," she recalled.

Cam added: "The track is so much fun. Jangling guitars, claps, it feels like when a group of familiar people get back together over the holidays, clanking around after dinner with too much wine, and amidst the chatter and laughter and closeness they are really telling each other, deep down, just how much they love each other."
  • Filmed at White Limozeen, a retro Dolly Parton-themed lounge/bar, the colorful video is a look back at bygone days. The clip takes Cam through recreations of scenes with mid-20th century icons Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball and Audrey Hepburn.

"I seem to be looking back to the past a lot these days. Untangling the truth from the stories in my nostalgia and my identity," mused the singer. "You gotta know where you come from to know where you are going, right? So this video is my own vintage feminine exercise."
