Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from Canadian hardcore rock band Cancer Bat's third album, Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones. The album title derives from each of the band members' personal nicknames. Vocalist Liam Cormier in the January 2nd 2010 edition of Kerrang! that it was a testimonial to the contribution of their new bassist Jaye R. Schwarzer: "It's a reference to the four of us-those are nicknames we all have. That was important because the record is definitely the four of us, and there's no way Scott, Mike and I could have made this alone. Now I can't see Cancer Bats being any other way than this line-up."
  • Vocalist Liam Cormier told Rock Sound magazine about the song: "It's about how as we get older, we get more set in our ways. It's about getting to the point in your life we're you realize that this is the way you're gonna be for the rest of your life. There's a line in the song that goes, 'If what you have is right, then I'll live dead wrong.' It's like if what you're doing is considered right and normal, I'll do the complete opposite, because I don't wanna have anything to do with what you have. For us, it's about realizing that we're probably gonna be in a band for the rest of our lives, and we're not gonna get a house and get married and have kids."
