You Need A Great Big Woman

Album: Diva La Grande (1997)

Songfacts®:

  • Running to 4 minutes 34 seconds, the opening track from the 1997 Diva La Grande album is autobiographical as well as tongue-in-cheek. Before her music career took off, Candye Kane appeared on the covers of magazines, but not Vanity Fair, as she was quick to point out. She also made a number of films, including the regular 1987 horror film Blood Diner in which she had a bit part, but most of them had titles like Big Melons 5 (1985). The message of "You Need A Great Big Woman" is love your own body, and anyone else's when you have the chance, and as an open bisexual, she meant that literally. >>>
