Songfacts®:

  • This "Bluebird" is not to be confused with the Electric Light Orchestra song of the same name, with which it has a tenuous connection. Carl Wayne was bass player with The Move; on his departure, the multi-talented Jeff Lynne joined, and Lynne was of course to go on to form ELO.

The Carl Wayne recording was written by Tony Macauley; a run of the mill love song, it was the B-side of the far superior "You're A Star," the theme song of the TV talent show New Faces. >>>
