  • This lighthearted song was written by lyricist Leo Robin and composer Harry Warren for the 1943 musical The Gang's All Here, the third film of that name to be released in four years; they shared the title and nothing else.

    Released on Christmas Eve, this 20th Century Fox production featured Carmen Miranda in a minor role; the Portuguese-born Brazilian singer was literally the lady in the tutti frutti hat. Miranda had manufactured hats in Brazil before embarking on a career as a samba singer, but these were nothing like the ones she wore on the big screen, which were literally made of fruit. >>>
