Songfacts®:

  • In this song, Caroline Jones warns her husband, telling him he's not dealing with a normal person, and letting him know this was exactly what he signed up for when he put a ring on her finger. She might beat him bloody but go in for a kiss five minutes later.

Jones got married two years earlier, but the song is written in character: She's not likely to unleash this kind of crazy on the poor guy.
  • The song is part of Jones' third album, Homesite. By this time, she was a full-fledged member of the Zac Brown Band and was busy touring and recording with them as well.
  • Jones wrote this song and co-produced it along with Brandon Hood and Ric Wake. Hood is known for his work with Sam Hunt and Rascal Flatts; Ric Wake has been working on hits since the '80s, when he produced Taylor Dayne's "Tell It To My Heart."
  • The music video, directed by Tyler Lord, was shot at Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee in Texas with the real-life folks working the festival, not actors.
