Songfacts®:

  • The Sunday Night Football theme song for the 2016-17 NFL season, "Oh, Sunday Night" is sung by Carrie Underwood to the tune of her Miranda Lambert collaboration "Somethin' Bad."
  • Underwood collaborated with the writers of "Somethin' Bad" - Chris DeStefano, Brett James and Priscilla Renea (aka Muni Long) - to rewrite the lyrics. "It has such a great stomp-clap, a 'We Will Rock You' kind of feel to it," said the singer. "This is such a high-energy song."
  • The song replaces "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" as the SNF theme song, which was sung by Faith Hill from 2006 until 2013 when Underwood took over.
