Songfacts®:

  • Cash Cash is an American EDM group from Roseland, New Jersey comprising Jean Paul Makhlouf, Alexander Makhlouf, and Samuel Frisch. After forming in 2008 they signed with Universal Republic Records and by the end of the year had released their debut full length album, Take It to the Floor.
  • This single was released worldwide on July 14, 2013. The song entered the Hot 100 in January 2014, becoming Cash Cash's first charting tune in the US. They'd previously charted in Europe in 2012 when their Michael Jackson tribute tune "Michael Jackson (the Beat Goes On)" reached #25 in the Netherlands and #79 in France.
  • The song features guest vocals from the Albanian-American singer Bebe Rexha. The Staten Island native's first exposure in the music business came when she was chosen to be vocalist for Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz's project, Black Cards. In 2013 she co-wrote and recorded "Monster Under My Bed" as a possible song for her debut solo album. One of her collaborators, Frequency, who had previously produced for Slaughterhouse, decided it would be perfect for Eminem. They pitched his label a stripped down version of the song, which was later reworked by the Detroit rapper and Rihanna to become the hit single, "The Monster."
  • Frish told Radio.com that it takes more than a hot beat to craft a great dance song. "The cool thing about 'Take Me Home' is we actually started on acoustic guitar and piano, the real stripped down version when we were writing it and working out lyrics," he said. "We always say if a melody can't stand on acoustic guitar and piano, there's no reason to electrify it and put all the bells and whistles."
