Caspa is the stage name of Gary McCann, a Dubstep music producer from West London. In 2010 he teamed up with English R&B/electronica artist Mr. Hudson for a new version of his previously instrumental track, "Back For The First Time." This new rendition became Caspa's first entry in the UK singles chart.
Caspa told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 about the new version (as reported by True To Sound): "Normally I'm known for doing remixes so it's probably the biggest tune I've done by myself. I always find it frustrating when there's such a big instrumental around and people go, 'I'll tell you what, let's vocal it because we want to sell more records'. But this was really natural and I was thinking if the vocal overtakes the instrumental, I just don't want it to happen. It was weird because it worked so well, it stayed in my head and I just had to do something with it because it's such a nice track."
Mo Ali, whose CV includes the British futuristic thriller Shank, directed the song's music video.
