Songfacts®:

  • "People Will Say We're In Love" is one of the more memorable songs from the 1943 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! As might be deduced from its title it is, or was originally, a duet. Not quite a list song, it was introduced in the original Broadway production by Alfred Drake and Joan Robert. In the 1955 film version, it is performed by Gordon MacRae as Curly and Shirley Jones as Laurey.

It has long been a standard, and has been covered by an extraordinary number of artists as a duet, solo and instrumental including Trenton Spence & His Group. >>
