• "A Room In Bloomsbury" is a duet from the widely performed 1950s musical The Boy Friend; like all the songs in the original show, it was written by Sandy Wilson. At the time this musical was set, the 1920s, Bloomsbury was one of the more expensive areas of London. It was also from the beginning of the century until the 1930s and after, home to the Bloomsbury Set, a loose collection of self-styled intellectuals including E.M Forster, author of A Room With A View which may have subconsciously inspired the Noël Coward song of the same name, and almost certainly contributed to this one. Bloomsbury is also adjacent to London's West End, home to some of the world's most famous theatres.
  
  In the original show, "A Room In Bloomsbury" is sung by Polly and Tony at their second meeting, at the beach. >>
