Songfacts®:

  • Cee-Lo recorded this as the theme song for the NFL Network's 2012 Thursday Night Football season. The tune is based on the Ramones 1976 hit "Blitzkrieg Bop." Green told The Associated Press that he has long wanted to pay tribute to the New York band. "I'm definitely a Ramones fan," he said. "Punk Rock is like pots and pans, like making something out of nothing, which is what Hip-Hop is as well. And both of them early on in their humble beginnings were alternative music. And therefore it's an alternative to the Faith Hill rendition [of the NFL theme], the Hank Williams rendition and any other one that we'll co-exist with. I talk like a politician but I'm a Punk at heart."
