Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Chance the Rapper recounting the ups and downs of his relationship with his fiancée and mother of his child, Kirsten Corley. The track is named after the intersection at 65th and Ingleside in Chicago's East Side, where the couple used to live. He admits to not being faithful in the early days of their relationship when he was still "tryna act single." Chance goes on to recall their breakup and reconciliation before concluding the song with a remembrance of his proposal.

Truth is I just really need your finger size
So I can make sure they make the ring so tight

Chance and Kirsten got engaged at a backyard party with his friends and family on July 4, 2018.
  • In July 2012, the little-known Chance the Rapper appeared on "They Don't Like Me," a track from Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino's sixth mixtape, Royalty. Gambino would go on to invite Chance to join on his first concert tour of North America as his opening act. Here, Chance praises Donald Glover for kickstarting his career and changing his financial situation.

All my raps was about suspension
Then one day Donald took me on tour
Young, broke Chano ain't broke no more
