Songfacts®:

  • This track from British indie/alternative rock band Chapel Club's debut album Palace was released as a free download from their website to promote its release.
  • The song was inspired by the Biblical story of Jonah and front man Lewis Bowman's interest in religion. He told The Sun: "Lyrically, it's about being in your 20s when you're confused and you hate work, and you're living for the hedonism of the weekend. We live in this post-religious age. I don't believe in God and feel there is a sadness that people needed something from religion - and it failed them."
