Songfacts®:

  • This was written by Sarah Buras, Wyrlie Morris and Fitzgerald Scott and produced by Tore Johannson who also produced "Lovefool" for The Cardigans and "Take Me Out" for Franz Ferdinand. It was originally written for BBC reality show Fame Academy winner Alex Parks who turned it down.
  • Charlotte Church: "Crazy Chick basically came about when I was over in Atlanta and a songwriter called Fitzgerald Scott who I worked with he said I've got this great track for you, do you want to give it a listen?"
  • Her 1999 debut album Voice Of An Angel was recorded by Charlotte Church at the age of 12 making her the youngest solo artist in both the US and UK Top 30 albums charts. It sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.

Church also became the youngest artist with a #1 selling album on the British classical charts. Her 2000 Christmas album Dream A Dream made her the youngest female to have a Top 10 album in the US.
  • When asked why she decided to title her first Pop album Tissues & Issues, Charlotte Church replied: "The album is about some of my life experiences and I was talking to one of my mum's friends about my teenage years and traumas and one of them said those years of 'tissues and issues' and that kind of summed the album up to me." • Church admitted to Q magazine December 2012 that she loathes this song: "Another songwriter played me 'Crazy Chick,' which I f---ed hated," she recalled. "But he sent it to the record company too. They said, 'It's sooo you Charlotte.' insisted it was going to be a massive hit and made me record it. And when I delivered the rest of the album the A&R said, 'it's alright, I suppose...' I was heartbroken."
