Songfacts®:

  • Written in G Major and the unusual time signature 12/8, "That's What I Like" has words and music by both men. It was released on Friends Records as the B-side of "Wish I Could Write A Love Song" in October 1982.
  • "That's What I Like" is a list song in the spirit of Cole Porter's "You're The Top." Like his songwriting partner Dave Peacock, Chas Hodges had a down-to-Earth sense of humor; he died September 22, 2018 after a long battle with something he certainly didn't like, cancer, although he even managed to make a joke of that. >>>
