Songfacts®:

  • This slick and sensual tune features a strong rock line running through its center, while lyrically Bryant doesn't bother to veil his desires. He recalled the inspiration behind the song to The Boot:

"For me, I wanted to write something that was leaning towards something that was going to get caught in your ear really fast - a groove that was going to hit, that you were going to immediately go, 'Wait, what is this?' People always say, 'He's got such a musical history, and he knows older music.' I kind of wanted to write something that was a little more of a throwback, but also something with a little more sex appeal than I've written in the past. That's kind of where 'Room to Breathe' came from."
  • Bryant penned the song with Derek George and Ashley Gorley, the same team that helped out with his "Little Bit of You" single.
  • The song's music video finds Bryant channeling 007. "Anyone that knows me knows that I am obsessed with James Bond movies," the singer said. "I was on the bus one night watching Casino Royale and I thought, 'How cool would it be to recreate the style of this movie and the attitude of James Bond into a music video?' 'Room to Breathe' is a seductive sort of song about never wanting to leave a girl. I wanted to do something different and push the limits with this music video."
  • Did you spot Lee Brice in the video? He has a cameo as a poker in one of the clip's casino scenes.
