• This dance tune was the first single to be released from Cheryl Cole's third solo album. It was written and produced by Scottish producer Calvin Harris, whose other credits include Rihanna's "We Found Love." He's also scored a series of Top Ten singles under his own name in the UK including the chart-topping "I'm Not Alone."
• Rita Ora claimed that she was offered this song before it went to Cheryl, and that she turned it down because she didn't want to go down the dance route with her music. Ora explained to The Sun: "I heard 'Call My Name' quite a while ago because I was offered it. I turned it down. I do like the song but I didn't want to sing it 'cos it's not really me." She added: "I don't want to go down the dance route that a lot of other pop stars are doing. I prefer to have my own sound and do my own thing."
  
  Calvin Harris subsequently denied that this song was ever optioned to Rita Ora. "For the record, Call my name was never given to Rita Ora to sing... she made that up, don't know why," the DJ tweeted.
• The Anthony Mandler-directed music video was filmed in downtown Los Angeles at the same location where Britney Spears shot her clip for "Womanizer." Cheryl revealed to The Daily Mirror that she injured herself on the set after trying to impersonate supermodel Naomi Campbell. "I pulled a hip doing it," she said. "I think I knocked it out trying to out-walk Naomi Campbell."
• Cheryl described the Calvin Harris-penned lyrics to Pop Justice as "Just fun! It's a pop song." Asked if she wonders what such songs mean? She replied: "They don't feel deep to me. But if you ask me what half Girls Aloud songs mean, I'd say the same thing! They don't have a meaning, they have a feeling. I think it's quite a sexy lyric? Um… It's really not that deep. We're not saving the world with lyrics or anything."
• This was Cheryl's third solo #1 single in the UK. It continued her record of scoring chart-toppers with the lead single of each of her first three studio albums.
