  • Cole premiered this track during her stint co-hosting the Greg James show on BBC Radio 1 on June 12, 2012. The song was described as, "an insight into Cheryl's personal attitude to relationships." The cut is one of two tracks on A Million Lights for which Cole penned the lyrics.
  • The song features her mentor will.i.am. The Black Eyed Peas founding member has long been a supporter of Cheryl, featuring her on his 2008 song "Heartbreaker" and helping with the writing and production on all three of her albums.
  • Cheryl told Pop Justice that Will.i.am and her penned this song about having an argument. She explained to Pop Justice it's about, "the things you say to each other sometimes in a relationship, all the hurtful things, all the amazing things. Sometimes it can be crazy because you go from saying, 'I love you.' to 'I hate you,' from 'you mean the world' to 'f--k you.'"
  • Cheryl told We Love Pop magazine that this song was inspired by a boyfriend she had in her teens. Explaining that it is about a two-year relationship that she had with a junkie when living in Newcastle's Heaton estate, the Geordie singer said: "I was in the worst relationship of my life. We swore, we fought, we did everything it says in that song. People think it's passionate and fun, but it's aggressive and wrong. I was depressed and poorly. I had to end it for my health."
