Songfacts®:

  • The first track to be released of the Kauai EP side of Donald "Childish Gambino" Glover's STN MTN/Kauai set, the song finds the rapper drowning his sorrows in drink after a break-up. He believes he'll never get over the girl and eases his pain by getting high. Gambino declares he will "never be sober" again.
  • The song's music video was filmed by Japanese-American director Hiro Murai (David Guetta, Earl Sweatshirt, The Shins) and stars Amber-Lauren Jones (Hollywood Heights). "We shot in Zankou Chicken, a Hollywood restaurant with the craziest colors," Murai recalled to Billboard magazine. "I'm pretty sure we broke some sort of health code, but the dove Donald [Glover] released in the video was real."

  • Man Of Beats from Somewhere, UsaI remember listening to this on repeat after I "broke up" with someone. She made me feel happy and made me forget my worries. But like with all things, what goes up, must come down. This was one the few songs that helped me cope.
