Songfacts®:

  • The idea for "Nothing's Beyond Broken" came from Chris August's ballad about forgiveness "7x70." That song was about the singer's parents' divorce and their reconciliation, years later. He recalled to NewReleaseToday:

"My dad told me the first day that he heard the song that 'God has the ability to take something that's broken and make it better than it was.' I don't think a show went by when I wouldn't say that exact same thing when I introduced the song. That's the Gospel. I always said that and I've wanted to write a song about 'Nothing's Beyond Broken.'"
  • When penning the song, August wanted to get to the truth of how God is greater than the mess people get themselves in and how we are never out of the reach of His love and forgiveness. August explained:

"When you dive deeper biblically into the song there are lots of references that Jesus made about restoring us from our brokenness. I thought about how I needed God to bring me into His divine image. Born into sin, I need Him to make me better than the human nature of sin I was born into and undo the works of the Enemy. Another verse I came across was that the Son of Man came to destroy the works of the Devil. Another translation was that He came to undo the works of the Devil. The layers were unfolding for me as I was digging into the Word and writing this song."
