Jeff Buckley was an acclaimed singer/songwriter who drowned in 1997 while swimming in the Mississippi River. His father, Tim, was a very influential folk singer who died of a heroin overdose in 1977. Tim was 28 when he died, Jeff was 30.
Euphoria Morning was Cornell's first solo album, which he followed in 2007 with Carry On and in 2009 with Scream. He was formerly lead singer of Soundgarden, and went on to form Audioslave.

Joe from Sin City, NvI agree with Kurt from Illinois, Chris Cornell is probably one of the most underrated singers in music. How Rolling Stone could neglect to include him in a list of the Top 100 Singers of the Rock and Roll Era is nothing short of a crime.

Somebody probably had to squeeze his nuts for that one! He is the greatest singer ever, and if you don't agree, listen to the last couple minutes of "Reach Down" by Temple Of The Dog.
