Songfacts®:

  • Chrystal is a singer-songwriter from Bolton, Lancashire, who writes and produces her own material. Her music is a mixture of modern R&B and alternative pop sang with a Northern delivery.
  • "The Days" is a nostalgic jaunt back into a former romance. This isn't the sort of memory dipped in rose-tinted reverie but one tinged with the smoky haze of late-night mischief: "smoking, wine, and drinking haze," as Chrystal puts it. There's an undeniable yearning here as she beckons her former love interest, hoping they'll "swing around" and chill with her, like old times.
  • Released on October 1, 2024, "The Days" was something of a breakthrough for Chrystal, landing her a spot in the UK Top 75 for the first time. Clearly, the song struck a chord with listeners who shared her hope that they, too, might steal a night or two back from the haze of memory.
  • Chrystal wrote the first version of "The Days" in 2015. "When I made the beat for the song, I wanted it to be something that would go off in the club or at festivals," she told Official Charts. "At the time I was either going to raves or performing at them with my sister so I was paying attention to how the crowd reacted to different parts of a song and took inspiration from that by trying to write a vocal that people could catch on to."
  • "The Days" became a hit a decade after it was written when Chrystal's family and friends persuaded her to upload the song along with a host of other unreleased material.

"My sister kept me updated, when it first got a few thousands views, we were buzzing about it!" said Chrystal. "And it just kept growing. My daughter also told me there were trends happening on Snapchat too and I think that crossed back over to TikTok."
  • Chrystal signed to Chaos Recordings, a Polydor imprint, following the viral success of "The Days" in early 2025.
