  • Coup De Main magazine asked singer Lauren Mayberry what was running through her mind while writing this song. She replied: "I have a sneaky system... I try not to say exactly what songs are about sometimes, because I feel like it ruins it for people. I've definitely read interviews with people where they've explained exactly what they wrote something about and I've been like: 'Oh no, I was thinking that was a really beautiful love song or a really sad thing.'"

Mayberry added: "That song is one of my favourites on the record but probably because it sounds sonically the most upbeat and it seems like it should be the most sparkly pop song, but I think it's the one with the most aggressive production and lyrically it's probably one of the more twisted ones. I think that's quite a nice juxtaposition, which is something that we like to do a lot - thinking of the dark and the light, and the kind of black and white, all at once."
