Songfacts®:

  • This none-too-cheery tale of sibling rivalry was was written and recorded in two days. Originally released as Chvrches debut single on November 5, 2012 via National Anthem Records, the song disappeared from streaming services like Spotify after the band signed with Virgin records so that Rich Costey (Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine) could mix a new, tougher version for The Bones of What You Believe.
  • The Sing J Lee directed video alternates between a narrative of a depressed girl traversing her way through New York City and shots of Chvrches performing the melancholic tune.
  • This was declared the best British Pop single of the last twelve months in October 2013 by the panel of Pop Justice's Twenty Quid Music Prize.

  • Horse Lover from ScotlandI recognize this song from a show but i can't think Love the songXx
  • Hellz BellzWhat an inspid song. How has this group been signed anywhere? much less had this song to reissue on a future album. Maybe it should have just been pulled and sent to the graveyard. There's a lot of bad songs out there (case in point); it's ok to let them die.
