  • Cian Ducrot teamed up with English songwriter/producer Steve Mac, who not only co-wrote the song but also took charge of its production. Mac has an impressive track record of crafting chart-topping hits for the likes of Westlife, Little Mix, and Ed Sheeran.
  • Ducrot first performed the song during his May 2023 Australian headline show. He released it as a single via Polydor Records on June 2, 2023.
  • "Heaven" was the last song Ducrot wrote for his debut album, Victory. "I just know I wanted to write a song for my brother. I was younger and so my brother had to protect me, and I'll never get to be that person for him," he told The Sun. "My brother was the one who had to come forward and talk about abuse. It was physical and sexual and my brother had to bring it to my mum's ­attention and protect me afterwards. I think we were too young. That's so hard-hitting for me."

    "I was lucky and got away," Ducrot continued. "I've had therapy and as a family we've been trying to recover from this horrendous thing."
