  • Ciara teamed up with her boyfriend Future to pen this baby-making track. "Let's just say that this record came out of a very sincere place," Ciara told Billboard magazine about working with her rapper beau. "I think when things just organically feel right, naturally good things come from it."
  • Future can be heard throughout the tune with his "ooh's" and ad-libs. "If you listen closely, you can [hear him]," Ciara told Billboard while giggling.
  • Producer Mike WiLL Made It's beat samples Ghost Town DJs 1996 Miami-bass influenced hit "My Boo."
  • The song's sensual video finds Ciara flirting with Future. The clip was helmed by Director X and features cameos from Ludacris, Trinidad James and Love & Hip Hop stars Joseline and Stevie. Ciara told MTV News: "For me, the mission is to take you back to that day when guys weren't too cool to dance in the club. They weren't acting too cool to slow dance with a girl in the club."
  • Ciara told MTV News that she has no qualms about gushing over Future on this song. "That's where I am at this day and time in my life and I'm also with someone who makes me extremely comfortable to be that way, which is really important," she explained. "The way that he makes me feel, why not? If you love somebody you should express it, and now I understand that. There's nothing sexy about hiding your love. There's nothing sexy about people not acknowledging each other."
  • The album was originally called 'One Woman Army' but was eventually switched to Ciara. The singer told fans during a Google+ Hangout why she changed the title. "When I first started the album I was in a different place," she explained. "I ended up growing as I was making the record and releasing the songs to the world.

"Kind of personally, but also creatively," she continued, "I started out with one vision and then as I kept recording and releasing I found a new energy and 'Body Party' was the start of that.
"It set the tone - it was the clarity moment for me. The light went off, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, what vibe I wanted, the setting I wanted this album to be and everything."

Ciara added: "I've been very fortunate to have had success over the years but I feel like out of all my moments and the songs I've released, my fans still haven't really had a chance to know me. So it's really about taking a journey with me, Ciara."
  • Ciara told Radio.com that the song hearkens back to a time when "guys were in the club and weren't too cool to slow dance."

She added that the track is the grown-up answer to "Goodies," which was her debut single. "'Goodies' was like me saying, 'You can't get the goodies. They stay in the jar,'" Ciara explained. "There's still a little of that energy on 'Body Party.' You want to give your goodies to the right person. But now that I'm a woman I'm more in touch with my sexuality than when I was younger. Some of my sexuality that I share through music is probably more clear. I'm a bit more aware of that side of me now."
  • Ciara and Future later split, but not before having a child together. The singer told The Guardian that she's not concerned about their son eventually hearing mummy and daddy's racy tune. "I'm a grown woman," she said. "Momma can do grown-woman things!"
