Songfacts®:

  • The title track of Ciara's Jackie album starts out with a touching tribute in the first verse to the singer's mother, whom the record is named after. Things then get more filthy as we get to the hook as Ciara growls that she is indeed a "bad mother f---er."
  • Ciara explained to Fuse about why she dedicated the album to her mother. "I was inspired to title the album 'Jackie' because now, being a new mom, I know what it's like to be in her shoes and see things from her eyes," she said. "It was the most fitting thing to mark this really special time of my life an walking into motherhood and womanhood at the same time. In a sense, I am a mini Jackie."
  • The intimate cover art showing a topless Ciara was shot by noted fashion photographer Francesco Carrozzini.
