Songfacts®:

  • This straightforward power rocker is the third single off Cinderella's debut album, Night Songs. It sits as the band's eighth best selling single during their career. The album itself achieved triple platinum status of 3,000,000 albums sold, and during one period was clipping along with sales of 50,000 copies per week. The band's core had not been settled yet while recording the album: three different drummers were used during the session before they settled on Fred Coury, who came in just in time to make the album cover and play on the upcoming tour.
  • Picture yourself in a car going 100 miles per hour trying to escape everything closing in on you. Hence the title, "Somebody Save Me." You hear the heavy pounding power chords swirling around your head. Tom Keifer's voice slices with "somebody get the doctor, I think I'm gonna crash." Huh? Is this Glam Rock's version of the Eagles' "Life In The Fast Lane"?
  • Jon Bon Jovi had a hand in bringing Cinderella to the forefront after seeing the band live at the Empire Rock Club in Philadelphia. In Cinderella's video for this song, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora make an appearance just outside the studio.

  • Phil Phillip from Alto Peaks, TennI like the lyrics of this song. Not too artsy fartsy, but not so obvious either. A perfect balance.
