Songfacts®:

  • "It was about some issues my wife and I were having," Circa Survive lead singer Anthony Green told us in 2014 regarding this song. The lyrics certainly bear this out:

    I won't be angry
    If you have to leave,
    But I won't be waiting
    For that day

This was clearly a rough time, but four years later, Anthony was still married to his wife, Meredith, and they had two boys.

Green went on to explain that the song has changed meaning for him in ensuing years as he and his wife were able to get past this difficult time. He began thinking of the song more as a celebration than a lament.
