Songfacts®:

  • Lead singer Eef Barzelay wrote this. It is about his hatred of Jewel, whose music he can't stand. He wrote it in a sarcastic manner as if he was Jewel.
  • This was used as the theme song to the NBC comedy Ed. It replaced "Next Year," by The Foo Fighters, which was the theme song in 2000, the first season of the show. The producers of Ed wanted them to write a new song, but did not like any of the 3 songs Clem Snide came up with. They had them re-record this, which originally came out in 1999.
  • Clem Snide is a group, not a person.
