Songfacts®:

  • This slow burning ballad finds Chris Martin celebrating some of the beautiful things of the world around him and his lover. Coldplay debuted the track when they played it live at the Global Citizen Festival on September 26, 2015.
  • The song was produced by New York-based Norwegian production duo Stargate and longtime Coldplay comrade Rik Simpson, who has worked on all of Coldplay's studio albums since 2008's Viva la Vida.

Stargate, aka Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, shared production duties with Rik Simpson on all but one song on A Head Full Of Dreams. This was the first time that Coldplay had hooked up with the Scandinavian pair who have also worked with the likes of Rihanna and Katy Perry.

The Wall Street Journal asked Chris Martin how did the band decide to work with the Norwegian twosome? "We started by doing a song with them for Angelina Jolie's movie Unbroken,'" he replied. "Everything in Coldplay involves a run of permissions granted, so I was worried that the most musically conservative members of our band would [balk at] going with Rihanna's producers. But the band said they'd love to."

"Tor and Mikkel did, too, but they wanted to hear demos because they don't want to work with anything they don't like," Martin continued. "Which is really old school and bold. So I had to audition for them. They came over and I played a song for them on piano."
