  • Contrary to what some writers have said, the song title for this instrumental electronic interlude does not stand for the year 2009. According to Chris Martin it came from a slogan relating to the band's long-serving guitar tech - "Mat McGinn is awesome." The Coldplay singer admitted to Music Week: "I don't know why the f--- it got called that. It has nothing to do with anything… it stands for nothing; it's just a collection of letters."
