Songfacts®:

  • In "Broken," Cole Swindell is talking to a love interest who's been through some tough heartbreaks in the past. He's trying to make her feel better by telling her that love isn't supposed to hurt like that. Swindell paints a picture of all these bad examples of love, but then he starts singing about how he would treat her differently. He wants her to know that her heart wasn't made to be broken and left in pieces. Instead, it's meant to be loved by someone who will never give up on her.
  • Cole Swindell teamed up with Chris LaCorte, Cole Taylor, and Hillary Lindsay to write "Broken." Zach Crowell handled the production that includes guitar, percussion, and even some banjo to give it that country feel all the way through.
  • Swindell released "Broken" on March 17, 2023. It's one of three new tracks on the singer's Stereotype Broken deluxe album, an expansion of his 2022 album, Stereotype.
