Songfacts®:

  • This was the first song that Concrete Blonde lead singer Johnette Napolitano wrote after moving into a cabin deep in the Southern California desert. She told us: "I was on the porch. It's so amazing out here. It's just everything it says, against a backdrop of crickets and doves and coyotes and wind and it was just magic. It is magic. And so it's a timeless kind of a tune. Sometimes they come and you wonder where they come from, and that was one of them."
