Songfacts®:

  • Corey Taylor wrote this sensitive rock anthem about his wife Alicia Dove, who is a professional dancer and fire artist. The pair first got to know each other when Cherry Bombs, the dance and performance group Dove founded, opened for Stone Sour on their 2017-2018 Hydrograd tour. They married in October 2019.
  • Taylor's first trip to London with Dove, which took place in the winter time, inspired the song. While the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman had been to England's capital on many precious occasions, his wife had never visited London before. Dove was completely in awe, loving every moment as they visited the city's sights. Inspired by her innocent and enlightened outlook on life, Taylor penned this track after returning home to the States.

"Experiencing something through someone else's eyes was one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had," Taylor told American Songwriter. "Because you forget how cool your opportunities are until you see it through someone else's eyes. We were there in the winter, checking stuff out, freezing our asses off, but she didn't care, she had a smile that was ten-miles-wide and enjoyed every second. I realized that not only is this one of the main things I love about her, but it hit me that I take a lot for granted.

Sometimes you have to take a second and see what's going on. It's about coming to that realization that you're finally with someone who encourages you to enjoy life not just exist in it."
  • Taylor told Metal Hammer that for a long time he titled this "Clash Rip-off." He added: "I just wanted to write something that cool, you know? I failed miserably but it's a great f---ing song."
  • Taylor released this song as his first single off his debut solo album, CMFT, along with "CMFT Must Be Stopped." The song peaked at #1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart, his first visit to the summit of any tally as a solo artist. Taylor previously topped the Mainstream Rock Songs ranking four times with Stone Sour, though surprisingly not with Slipknot.

  • Rockmebaby from Does It MatterThis song has completely grown on me. Hated it when I first heard it, then it went from there to now I cannot stop hearing it in my head, and I love it. Keepin' it fresh and different from Slip Knot and/or Stone Sour Corey T.
