  • This song is based on the catch phrase from a Budweiser commercial. Budweiser spells it "Whassup." This is spelled differently so they can claim no association with the beer.
  • This samples MC Hammer's 1990 hit "U Can't Touch This," which had sampled Rick James' 1981 "Super Freak." Hammer and James both receive royalties from this.
  • Da Muttz are English duo Alez Rizzo and Elliot Ireland. They were in a group called Shaft the year before.
  • This caused some controversey when Radio Disney started playing this. Some parents objected because their kids were being exposed to the saying from a beer commercial.
