Songfacts®:

  • This downtempo Dan Fogelberg composition from his 1990 album The Wild Places sees him playing piano, synthesizers, classical guitar and providing the vocals as well as the string arrangement.

"Bones In The Sky" is a tribute song to the artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986). A member of the modernist movement, her work included "abstractions, large-scale depictions of flowers, leaves, rocks, shells, bones and other natural forms." In July 1997, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum was opened in Santa Fe. >>>
